BIG NEWS - It Finally Happened... 🥹

But the first BIG NEWS I wanted to cover in this week's edition of In Bed w/ Aaron Spivak was something that I’ve been reflecting and working on for a long time…

Me and my co-founder Lior officially sold our last piece of Hush to our dream partners two weeks ago.

We started this journey back in 2017 with just $4,000 to our names and the goal to build something we’d eventually sell… 

And well, it happened!

But this journey wasn’t as simple as it sounds…

From $4K to $48M: The Hush Journey

When my co-founder, Lior, and I started Hush back in 2017 we knew we had something special. 

But, honestly, we couldn’t have predicted the rollercoaster ride it would be.

You’ve probably heard me talk about scripting before—where I sit down and visualize exactly how the future would look. Well, this was no different. 

From the get-go, we believed in the end of our story, what is was going to look like and how it was going to feel…

We didn’t know how we were going to get there or exactly when... but we had a gut feeling. 

So, we wrote it down, we visualized, and we worked backwards to make it a reality.

Fast forward to 2020, and a random chance encounter at a fundraiser in Montreal changed everything.

We pitched at the event (even won best pitch that night!) and were introduced to Stuart… 

Who we initially thought was just another guy from a local sleep company in Quebec. 

Turns out, he was the president of Sleep Country Canada—pretty much the Canadian version of Mattress Firm.

And that’s where the fun started...

What we thought was supposed to be a quick wholesale deal turned into months of calls, Zoom meetings, and eventually... the question: “So, are we doing this, or are we just talking about it?”

I’ll admit, the process wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Trying to sell a business while running it full-time? Stress levels: 1000. 

But through it all, one thing remained clear – Community.

From the very beginning, our community—both the team at Hush and the customers who believed in us—played a massive role in our success. You guys helped us grow from a Kickstarter project to a household name in Canada with over 500,000 customers. We couldn’t have done it alone.

This is why I’m now such a HUGE believer in community…

And surrounding yourself with people who understand your vision, share the same goals as you, and do the same things you want to be doing.

The Next Chapter – Founders Club

For Hush, I’m happy to say we’ve finally left our baby in great hands at Sleep Country…

I know it’s going to continue to grow and be something I will be happy to say, 

“Hey you see that billboard with the Hush blanket, me and my friend Lior started that”

For me? I’m now committed to helping founders like you navigate the ups and downs of business, whether that’s through Founders Club or just by staying connected here.
