Don’t focus on marketing until you’ve done this 🤔

Hint: it’s all about your product baby!

What’s up newsletter Fam and happy Sunday!

It’s good seeing you again…

I have an excellent feeling about this week…

I made a promise to myself post-exit (aka Not Poor Anymore)…

I said I would hire David Goggins to live with me to get in the best shape of my life…

Well, today the Canadian Version is moving in…

Cam Russelle…

Wish me luck.

Before we jump into this edition of In Bed With Aaron…

Where we will be talking about the importance of a high-quality product in your business’s success.

I want to just say thank you for reading my weekly newsletters.

It’s starting to be something that I look forward to doing every week.

Not so much on the writing side, but reading your responses has been my favorite thing.

So many of you have sent me such amazing messages that have made me feel so grateful

and motivated to write to you every week.

Which is a HUGE win for me because I have always been insecure about my writing.

And if you’re anything like me, you LOVE to win.

Recently, I shared on LinkedIn how much I love winning…

And let's be real, anyone who claims to love losing is either lying…

Or has a shelf full of participation trophies.

Winning is what makes the tough times worth it.

Last year, Hush snagged the prestigious Retail Council of Canada award for our Yorkdale Shopping Centre pop-up.

We were up against some serious heavyweights, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little skeptical.

But we had the secret sauce – an unbeatable story, a scrappy budget, and a team determined to create something extraordinary.

And you know what the foundation of all that was?

An AMAZING product!

When we first started Hush, we didn't just dive in headfirst.

We bought every competitor's weighted blanket we could get our hands on…

And meticulously analyzed their flaws.

Then, we spent months (yes, MONTHS) perfecting our own sample product, ensuring it was better than anything else out there.

I truly believe that this is the extent you must go to before you focus on anything else in your business.

And it’s something I don’t see many wanna-be-successful entrepreneurs doing.

Lets take AG1, for example…

In a sea of green powders, they stand out because their product is just that damn good.

Their success isn't solely due to clever marketing; it's rooted in the QUALITY of what they're selling.

I get that it's tempting to think you can skate by with a decent product…

Slap on some branding, spin a compelling story, and call it a day…

But if your cooling sheets leave customers waking up in a puddle of sweat, all those billboard ads WONT MEAN A THING.

Your product has to deliver on its promises and then some.

Plus, when you have a top-tier product that exceeds expectations, it elevates your marketing and keeps customers coming back for more.

Heres how…

Picture this: someone's rocking a Louis Vuitton bag, and their friend asks,

"How do you like it?"

 If they respond with,

"Oh my god, I'm obsessed! It's got this, that, and the other thing,"

they've just sold everyone in earshot of that bag.

That's the influence of an AMAZING product.

When you pour your heart and soul into perfecting every aspect, your customers transform into your most passionate cheerleaders.

They'll sing your praises from the mountaintops and handle a big chunk of the marketing for you.

So, if you're in the beginning of building a business, don't skimp on product development.

If it has to take you 3 years to create the best product on the marketplace…

Then let it take you three years, don’t shortcut perfecting your product because it is the foundation of your business’s success.

Channel your energy into crafting something truly exceptional.

Engage with your customers constantly.

Refine, refine, refine…

And I guarantee it will be worth its weight in gold.

I'm curious to hear your take on this.

What steps are you taking to guarantee your product is the best on the market?
