Why I HATE Zoom meetings

Happy Friday Newsletter Fam!

It’s been a busy past couple of days…

- Started Docu series

- Founders Club Dinner in NYC with 60+ Founders

- 2 Podcasts

- Prepping for Miami Founders Day

- Invested in Coldture

But I hope you’ve been crushing it and are finishing the week strong.

I’m super PUMPED for this Saturday…

(Here is a little sneak peek of the bags attendees will be getting at our Miami Founders Day)

I can’t wait to see everyone who is coming…

I love getting to know founders…

And building relationships.

If you’re not attending but are a founder that is interested in being part of a community of like-minded individuals who help each other grow in Mind, Body, and Business…

Then I highly encourage you to apply to the Founders Club.

Because let’s face it…

Entrepreneurship can be a lonely game…

So why not bring some friends along?

ALSO…

To segue into this week's edition of In Bed w/Aaron Spivak…

I believe many entrepreneurs forget that business, at the end of the day, is a people’s game. We’re always talking, trying to get to know each other, and building relationships.

So that’s why I’m a hater when I hear founders say remote is better than in-office…

Yes, remote can work…

BUT, you have to hire the right people who are self-motivated, who don’t need the social aspects of the office to feel fulfilled, and then you need managers to manage them to make sure they’re hitting their numbers.

Which sounds like more work and just becomes task in, task out…

Did you hit your KPIs? Quarterly reviews, Zoom calls…

It’s basically black and white…

And if you had to make one bet with all your money on the line…

Where there are two teams, one that works in-office 3-4 days a week and one that is only online.

Both teams are the same caliber, same people, same product…

Which one would you pick?

Every single person I’ve asked this question has said IN-OFFICE.

“But Aaron, I'm more distracted when I work in-office”

100%

But what we're really betting on is relationships…

Typically people work harder for the people they have closer relationships with, they talk to each other more, and aren’t as afraid to express their ideas.

And you see that a lot more with people who work together in-office compared to meeting someone on Zoom.

Like how many people's weddings have you gone to that you’ve met on Zoom?

Probably ZERO.

Because I don’t want you to be at my wedding, that’s weird LOL.

But if we’ve been working in the office for the same amount of time, then you're probably going to my wedding.

That's the difference…

It’s a people game, and people forget that.

It's all about connections, relationships, and long-term building.

Also, I’m really trying not to bash any founders who want to be 100% remote…

Because it can work…

But if you’re serious about your business, your goals, and are still pushing to be remote…

Typically, when I meet those types of founders, it’s simply because they want to work out of Costa Rica because that’s just their lifestyle and that’s what they want to do, and I respect that…

But, I don’t respect it when they're pushing it to a point where it’s better than in-office.

What do you think?

Are you Team Remote or Team In-Office?

Hit reply and let me know your thoughts. I always love hearing from you guys.
