My conversation with MiddaySquares co-founder → Apple Podcasts

How Jake Karls went from self-doubt to building a breakout brand...

I’m fired up right now!

Something I've been working on for months is finally out in the world.

The Founder2Founder podcast officially launched.

And it already cracked the Top 15 entrepreneurship podcasts.

INSANE!

Why another podcast?

Because the world needs to hear the REAL stories behind building businesses.

Not just the highlight reels.

Jake helped build the fastest-growing chocolate company in North America.

Midday Squares creates functional chocolate protein bars that have disrupted the health food industry.

And there's a good chance you've probably seen Jake's viral content on social media.

One moment that hit me harder than anything else in our conversation was Jake's perspective on authenticity…

"I realized I'm not this role. I need to do what I love doing, what actually makes me feel alive every day, and what makes people feel something."

He stepped down from his CMO position at his own company.

He admitted operations wasn't his strength.

Instead, he became the "rainmaker" – making noise and building community.

That shift?

It completely transformed their business.

This wasn't just about a title change.

It was about having tough conversations with his partners.

And being brutally honest with himself about where he created the most value.

We also covered:

  • The "vampires vs. energizer bunnies" of entrepreneurship (and how to spot each in 60 seconds)

  • Jake's ridiculous hotel bed bug checking routine that had me dying (seriously)

  • Why "showing up" in person is still the most underrated business strategy

  • The fear of "growing up" that many entrepreneurs silently struggle with

Here's what I found most powerful...

Jake's journey proves that when you align with your authentic self, your business performs better.

It's not about being the "jack of all trades" founder.

It's about going all-in on your superpower.

And finding the right people to handle the rest.

Is there an area in your business where you're trying to be someone you're not?

Hit reply and let me know.

Real quick! I have one favor to ask you…

If you're enjoying these raw conversations with incredible entrepreneurs, please leave a review on Apple Podcasts.

Your review helps other founders discover these stories and allows us to keep bringing you more candid conversations.

It takes less than a minute but means the world to me.

Thank you.

Also, huge thanks to everyone who joined our Sean Riley Q&A!

This past Wednesday, we hosted the DUDE Wipes founder for an incredible chat.

Sean shared how he turned a Chicago basement idea into a multi-million dollar brand.

What started as a "bro solution" became a Shark Tank success.

And now a household name.

For those who couldn't make it – don't worry.

We'll host more open sessions soon.
